True North Quilt Top (over 3 sessions) with Tina Finbow
I am a very lucky Tutor as I have again been given the kind permission by Laundry Basket Quilts to teach another one of their quilts, designed by Edyta Sitar for Laundry Basket Quilts, www.laundrybasketquilts.com
This new quilt is called True North and I will be teaching it over 3 sessions. This is an ideal follow on quilt for anyone who has made the Beginners Quilt with me and wants to move onto a more detailed quilt top. However it is not suitable for absolute beginners.
The pattern is available from Laundry Basket Quilts as a PDF download and it is a requirement to have a copy of this pattern to do the course.
Week 1 – Saturday 14th March 2026
Week 2 – Saturday 28th March 2026
Week 3 – Saturday 18th April 2026
On the last session we will have a look at ideas for layering up and quilting your finished quilt top – if there is sufficient interest I will put on a new workshop to layer the quilts up and quilt them.
Workshop Fee – £135.00 (This does not include materials)
Limited to 8 people

Liberty Book Cover with Aitchbee
This workshop is back by popular demand – Come and have a great day with Aitchbee, making these fabulous book covers, which then make great gifts.
In Helen’s words:-
Skill Level: Confident beginners and onwards
Finished size: approx. 8 x 6 x 1 inches (depending on the A5 notebook/diary you bring to the workshop!)
Narrative: The spikes on this New York Beauty style book cover remind me of the Statue of Liberty; hence the name (nothing to do with fabric company, although this would look lovely made in Liberty’s fabric!) In addition to full tuition for the wraparound Foundation Paper Pieced motif on this lovely book jacket I will be showing you how to make a jacket that fits snugly on your A5 hardbacked book or diary. These make beautiful gifts and with the skills you learn on the workshop you will be able to make covers for any size or shape of hardbacked book or album. Each student will receive a full set of instructions, with colour photographs and diagrams, to complete the project at home. This is a machine sewing class.
Workshop Fee – £55 – (This does not include materials)
Limited to 8 people – FULL – BUT WE HAVE A RESERVE LIST

Disappearing 9 Patch with Tina Finbow
Can you sew and use a sewing machine and fancy having a go at Patchwork and Quilting? If you are, then this is a perfect Beginners workshop for learning the basics to rotary cutting, piecing and quilting.
You will make a Cushion Cover using the Disappearing Nine Patch technique, which has so many possibilities with layouts. Once the front is made it will then be layered up on wadding and quilted, before making it into the cushion cover. If you love the technique it also makes a great Table Runner if you make 3 sections to join together. This will be discussed at the workshop, or a quilt top if you make more blocks, again an option to discuss on the day.
You will need your Sewing Machine with a ¼” foot and a walking foot is ideal for machine quilting.

Kawandi with Lynne Pretty
If you like hand sewing this is a lovely workshop, which we last held in February 2024.
In Lynn’s words:-
Kawandi means quilt in India. This technique was brought to India, possibly as long ago as 800 years, by East African settlers and enslaved Africans who were transported to India’s west coast in the 16th Century. Their descendants today are the marginalised Siddi people and they are mainly settled in Karnataka, on the west coast of India. Scraps of fabric, traditionally recycled saris, are hand quilted onto a background fabric. No piecing involved!!!
This is a lovely hand sewing workshop.
